Ride2School has donated $2400 worth of bike racks to the school and these will be installed by Bicycle Victoria.

Principal Gail Pollard said that as soon as the bike racks were in place pupils would be able to ride to school for the first time.

"We are hoping kids will be able to start riding to school at the beginning of term three," she said.

"We will be sending information home to parents about the new policy."

Mrs Pollard said allowing bicycles at school would mean a complete transformation to the school culture, establishing riding to school as a normal way of life.

"The pupils are very excited about being able to ride to school."

She said the school would be funding additional bike racks as needed.

"The school's main priority is the safety of the children riding to and from school.

"We will be assisting the students to ensure they riding safely on the roads."
