PUPILS at Bayswater North Primary School are enjoying shooting hoops at their new gymnasium.
The gymnasium was funded by the federal government's Building the Education Revolution program.
As well as being used by students during sports lessons, the gym will be leased to community groups for use outside school hours.
Principal Berna Buzaglo said the school was delighted with the new building.
"Everyone who comes into the gyms talks about how wonderful it is," she said. "As a health-promoting school it is great to have somewhere for the kids to develop their skills."
The gym will also be used for local basketball training and dance classes. "It will be used by a variety of community groups," Mrs Buzaglo said. "We are very keen to have community groups using the facility and hope it will make the school the hub of the community."
The school will also have a refurbished per forming arts hall from BER funding. The hall is expected to be completed by September and will also be leased out to community groups.
