Business as usual at Mt Evelyn cop shop

31 Jan, 2012 03:00 AM
YARRA Ranges police are assuring residents that the Mt Evelyn police station is operating.

Inspector Paul Rosenblum of the Lilydale police said the station was closed for two weeks last October due to a shortage in resources at the Mooroolbark police station.

"For a short period we took industrial action and moved officers from Mount Evelyn to Mooroolbark as it's a 24- hour station and we needed more staff during that period. But they were moved back to Mount Evelyn after the two weeks."

Inspector Rosenblum said there were no plans to shut or move the station, which operates for 16 hours a day between 8am and midnight.

He said concerned Mt Evelyn residents could call him at the Lilydale police station on 9739 2300.
