A MUSICAL inspired by a hot flush and bottle of wine is coming to Ringwood next month.
Jeanie Linders' critically acclaimed production Menopause the Musical celebrates women on the brink of, in the middle of, or who have survived "the change".
The production, which broke box office records when it toured Australia for 71 weeks in 2008 and 2009, brings the issue of menopause out of the closet and deals with the challenges women aged over 40 face - mentally, physically and spiritually.
The four characters don't seem to have anything in common but, after meeting by chance at a department store lingerie sale, they bond over stories of hot flushes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats and chocolate binges.
With the help of some creative changes to songs such as The Great Pretender, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Heat Wave and I Will Survive, audience members will be in fits of laughter.
