Public survey in train

09 Mar, 2010 10:36 AM
RESIDENTS of Melbourne's outer east will be surveyed on key public transport issues in their municipality.

The survey has been initiated by pt4me2, a project of the Metropolitan Transport Forum, which represents a

number of councils in Melbourne.

Launched last month, the survey has already attracted more than 2500 responses.

Chairwoman Jackie Fristacky said there were big gaps in public transport, including modern transport interchanges in Ringwood.

"We are asking the public to say what would move their vote this coming November.

"Progress on public transport, or the lack of it, will be an issue for many this state election.

"We need to move from promise to progress more quickly on more projects."
