ART enthusiasts will be given a rare treat when four talented artists come together for Wyreena Community Arts Centre's exhibition.
Angie Malley, Dianne Hansberry, Lynn Mather and Wendy Easton work across a variety of media, creating seascapes, portraiture and wildlife art. Their work will be displayed as part of the Good 4 the Palette exhibition.
Mather, of Croydon, enjoys expressing her creative side through textile art. "My work is quite varied. I work mainly with hand-painted and hand-dyed cloth," she said.
"Then I combine that with dry felting, silk, wool, photographs, found objects and a variety of fabrics with machine and hand embroidery and other embellishments."
Mather has undertaken a wide variety of arts and crafts subjects, including patchwork and quilting, which led her to dabble in textile art.
"I enjoy the freedom of design and texture that the use of textiles and mixed media affords."
She hopes visitors to the exhibition will "connect with the spirit" within her work.
People will also enjoy artwork by Malley, a regular exhibitor at the Camberwell and Sorrento Rotary art shows, Hansberry, a passionate seascapes and portraiture artist, and Easton, a photographer and graphic designer.
Mather's friendship with Hansberry dates back to their school years, after which they lost contact until crossing paths at a ribbon embroidery workshop, where they also met Easton.
Easton then introduced Malley to the group, and they have been sharing each other's art ever since.
