21 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
YARRA Ranges Council's chief executive officer Glen Patterson will continue in his position for another four years after his reappointment at last Tuesday's council meeting.

Mr Patterson had 22 years of senior management experience working with councils and operated his own business before coming to Yarra Ranges Council in 2008.

Councillors were unanimous in their decision to reappointment Mr Patterson.

Cr Tim Heenan said the council had four good years working with Mr Patterson and that he had shown knowledge in all aspects of local government.

He said Mr Patterson also understood the future needs of the local area

"All too often, as I've seen in my experience talking to other councils, when the appointment of chief executive officer happens it is not necessarily supported by every member of the council," Cr Heenan said.
