THE backdrop of the Yarra Valley will be the star of a new Australian television show encouraging people to take a break from work and get to know their own backyard.
The series No Leave, No Life began last Saturday week and will feature Domaine Chandon in Coldstream and the Chateau Yering Historic House Hotel in one episode.
Yering Chateau general manager Sue O'Brien said having a film crew at the chateau was just another day in the office for her staff.
"We have had a lot of television crews here in the past," she said.
"Due to our location we are often approached by international travel companies and have featured in Japanese television programs and Australian travel shows like Postcards. Overseas travellers are often stunned by how peaceful the atmosphere is in the Yarra Valley."
She said the guests from the show were treated to a hotel experience like any other guest.
Domaine Chandon hospitality and tourism manager Matt Jane said staff were abuzz with excitement to see their workplace on the small screen. He said the show filmed a segment from their weekly Chandon Sunday School wine experience.
"We gave the guests on the show a wine-tasting experience, allowing Emma, the star
of the episode, to try her hand disgorging a bottle of Chandon sparkling wine."
Mr Jane hopes the program will expose the Yarra Valley to a national audience.
No Leave No Life airs on Channel 7 at 6.30pm on Saturdays.
