FOR the first time in more than 1500 combined matches with the Ringwood baseball club, four members of the Rogers family lined up together.
Recently the two sets of brothers lined up for the B-reserve team in the Melbourne Winter Baseball League.
The event was a fitting one for Ringwood as it was the late Fred Rogers who started the club in 1968 after becoming sick of travelling to Dandenong to play.
These days, Fred's sons, James and Peter, and Peter's two sons, Cameron and Jonathon, represent the club.
James' attendance is a week-to-week proposition for Ringwood but his dedication can't be questioned, as he has travelled from the Ovens Valley to represent the club a handful of times this year.
Peter said it was a thrill to have played baseball with his sons for a long time.
"I guess I'm very fortunate to have played sport with my sons," said Peter, who played down any sibling rivalry.
"Not many fathers get the opportunity to play with their sons."
The season has been full of milestones for the Rogers. Peter's eldest son Cameron notched up his 400th game and Jonathon has played more than 300 games. Peter has played more than 800 games for Ringwood and James has played 150 games for the club and many more games in the Ovens Valley.
Peter is proud of the way the club has prospered since his father founded it. "We're now one of the biggest clubs in it."
For the record, the Rogers celebrated with a win over the top team in the B-reserve competition.
