COLDSTREAM piled on the runs during round eight of the YVCA's DJ Strachan Shield on Saturday.
The Crocs smashed the Hoddles Creek Wombats to all parts of the small Coldstream Primary School oval and amassed a monster score of 7-453.
Opener Matt Johnson (142) and captain Danny Adams (134) made great centuries in a partnership that laid the foundations for the massive score.
Wombats captain Chris Piggot (3-128) and Nick Bark (3-85) toiled hard for the Wombats, but they were no match for the blistering attack.
The Crocs have certainly hit form and the new-look line-up is starting to gel well, which bodes well for them leading into finals.
Seville's bats also led the way in their clash against Woori Yallock.
The Blues managed to compile a significant score of 9-284 after winning the toss at their home ground.
The big-hitting Adam Burns led the way with a well made 80 and was supported by the experienced pair of Andy Kay (46) and Dean Troyhan (41).
The Tigers' bowling was led by veteran Michael King (3-48) and spinner Ben Hayes (2-66).
The score is definitely chaseable at the Seville ground. But with Seville's formidable attack, the Tigers will do well to chase it down.
Yarra Junction and Healesville have been battling away this season and both sides would have been keen to clinch victory to keep their slim finals hopes alive.
Yarra Junction opened the game with a first week score of 10-246.
The Eagles' young guns in Trav Nightingale (81) and Pat Ford (47 not out) led the way for the visitors as their batting line-up showed that they could post a defendable score without a significant contribution from David Lever.
The Bloods attack was led once again by the hardworking left-armer Brad Chandler (5-53).
The target isn't a huge one. Big scores can be made on the quick Queen's Park oval, but any score approaching 250 or more is tough to chase down.
Warburton-Millgrove bucked the trend of the day, with their bowling line-up taking the honours on day one against Mt Evelyn.
The Burras bowlers gave the Rovers nothing and made the undefeated ladder leaders look second-rate as they rolled the home side for 137. Mick Walker showed his class and durability with 4-32 and was backed up by the classy Luke Darwall (3-33) and Brent Clinch (3-36).
Veteran opener Eric Giblin compiled a steady 45, but none of the other Rover batsmen could score anything of significance. The Burras finished the day on 1-49 and look set for victory unless the Rovers can conjure up some quick wickets.
