Premier side takes honours in local derby

16 Feb, 2010 03:00 AM
RINGWOOD'S top cricketers fought out a tight Twenty20 bash for charity, with the Premier Cricket Rams winning by four wickets.

The Rams chased down the Ringwood District Cricket Association's 112 runs.

Rams skipper Matt Gale said Daniel King [4-10] did most of the damage with four wickets, with the other bowlers sharing the rest.

In reply, the Rams started well with openers Ayrton Dehmel (42) and David King (17) making light work of the RDCA attack.

Rams president Graeme O'Donnell said the charity match helps cement the good relationship between RDCA clubs and the Ringwood Cricket Club.

"The boys really enjoy playing this game, and it gives the RDCA guys a chance to show us what they've got."

The match raised more than $1500 for the Wesley Mission in Ringwood.
