TWO teams, 24 players, will battle it out for Ringwood cricket supremacy at Jubilee Park tomorrow.
The annual charity Twenty20 clash pits the best of the Ringwood District Cricket Association against Premier Cricket champions, the Ringwood Rams.
Rams chairman of the match committee Alan Gale said the popular event was a great opportunity for the RDCA's elite to show their wares against Premier Cricket's best. "Our boys love it; it's a chance to get a bit of hit out and give a bit back to the community."
Money raised from this year's the event will support the Wesley Mission in Ringwood.
"From our point of view this game gives the RDCA boys a chance to play on turf. If any of them have aspirations to put their hand up and play at a higher grade, this is their chance."
Ex-Wantirna South quick Drew McKay is one of many top-class Rams players to have graduated from RDCA ranks into Premier Cricket.
"Drew played in one of these charity games three years ago and showed us what he had to offer. It was one of the easiest recruiting phone calls I've had to make," Gale said.
Entry to tomorrow's game starting at 5.15pm is by way of a gold coin donation. The RDCA will look to square the ledger after trailing 3-2 head-to-head.
