THE race for this year's Eastern Football League division 1 premiership is down to three teams with Noble Park now tipped to claim its first flag since 2004 after toppling Scoresby by 63 points in the second semi-final.
The Bulls are through to the grand final after drubbing the Magpies on Saturday. The quality win was built around their strong forwards, physical midfielders and running defenders.
The big win was in stark contrast to a 63-point loss to the Magpies back in round 15. The 21-goal turnaround signalled the excellent form of the Bulls at the business end of the season.
Forward Tory Dickson continued his sensational season with another haul of seven goals, outscoring the Magpies off his own boot.
With a four-goal lead at the long break, a tight third quarter made way for one-way traffic in the closing quarter. The Bulls steamrolled the Magpies down the stretch, adding 6.8 to two goals to close out a quality win.
While the Magpies are down, they will be given a second opportunity when they play Balwyn this weekend in the preliminary final.
The same can't be said for a gallant Norwood, with the Norsemen out of the race after losing to the Tigers by 28 points.
Balwyn jumped to an early lead and never looked back, with Peter Summers, Rob Cheevers, Charles Hendrie and Seamus Billings the best for the winners.
In division 2, Montrose's finals dreams ended with a thrilling five-point loss to Bayswater. Inaccuracy played a big part in the game, with Bayswater blazing away with just eight goals from 31 attempts.
The Waters will now face Mulgrave in the grand final with the Lions set to start favourites for promotion to division 1 after a whirlwind season in which they led the way for most of the year.
In division 3, Upper Ferntree Gully is toasting a successful season after claiming a well-deserved premiership, defeating a gutsy Doncaster by 18 points in the grand final.
Tate Hickleton picked up the Les Leete medal for a best-on-ground display, while Jason Sherlock slotted four goals in the win.
In division 4, super forward Paul Eccles kicked another 10-goal bag in Templestowe's 54-point win over South Belgrave, reversing the result between the two teams a fortnight earlier.
Templestowe will now get another crack at Ferntree Gully in this Saturday's grand final.
