Organisers heralded this year's Upwey billycart race a raging success with a record number of entrants and hotly contested racing divisions. Age proved no barrier as 171 competitors, some as young as five, battled it out for supremacy in 20 class titles. A Metropolitan Fire Brigade-inspired cart, driven by 9-year-old Joel Dixon of Kilmore, won the emergency services class, while Abbey-Lee Wood and Sam Campbell claimed the 5-6-year-old Upwey and Ranges class titles. Other winners include Grayson Steer of Upwey for his Batmobile-inspired billy cart, Frank Johnston in the over-60s and world class open champion Joel Bardwell.
