WELL, I'm finally over the jet lag from our trip to the Middle East and back in the swing of things back home as we prepare for our trip to Adelaide for the Clipsal 500.
Believe it or not, nearly 300,000 fans will descend on Adelaide next weekend for four days of racing in what can only be described as one giant party.
For us the weekend will be all about getting the Centaur Commodore up inside the top 15, and hopefully inside the top 10.
It's been a hectic week since the car arrived from Bahrain. Thankfully we didn't have too many panels to straighten up or change. But the engine has been serviced and every part of the car, big and small, has been checked over, cleaned up and replaced if required.
It's a big job in between races and always a case of all hands on deck, with the potential for some long days and late nights. While the team has been preparing the car, I've been busy back at training and working on a pet project, my road and driver safety program.
With great support from Rae-Line and Bendigo Bank at Ferntree Gully and Rowville, I'll be heading out to local schools in the coming months to speak with students about road and driving safety, and the role they play now and in the future.
It's a message I'm very passionate about, especially when you stop and consider that 1.2 million people die in road accidents around the world every year.
Hopefully we'll have another couple of businesses join the program shortly and throughout the year we can visit heaps of schools around the region.
Anyway, until next week and my wrap-up from Adelaide, have a great week and make sure you check the latest news on our team at www.centaurracing.com.au
