IT'S been a long few weeks over in the Middle East, but we're on the way home after grabbing some points in each of the season's opening four races, and now the Clipsal 500 is less than a fortnight away.
We're sitting 19th in the championship, and while it's good to be up and going, there's no doubt that a lack of grip and speed has us below where we want to get to.
It's been an amazing trip to Abu Dhabi and Bahrain. It's often hard to believe you're in the middle of the desert when you walk through some of the shopping centres and see lush green golf courses and billion-dollar racing circuits. Although it's exciting travelling, I must admit I get a bit homesick.
I come from a very close-knit family and I know my dog Senna will be missing me! I'm also looking forward to getting home and having a barbecue.
It's funny how you miss little things like that when you're away for a few weeks. There's just something special about an Aussie barbecue.
The Centaur Commodore is straight and all we need now is to find a bit more speed in Adelaide, which I'm confident we'll do.
The Clipsal 500 is a huge event with nearly 300,000 fans expected to be there. The drivers love it.
We're all chasing Jamie Whincup at the moment. He's had a great start to the season and set the benchmark. Hopefully we can start making inroads sooner rather than later as he has already built up a handy lead.
The racing is always competitive in Adelaide, especially surrounded by all those concrete walls. If we cop a hot weekend it makes for a very tough time behind the wheel.
Anyway, have a great week and make sure you check the latest news on our team at centaurracing.com .au
