While most locals are gearing up for potential fire damage this summer, Yarra Valley Water is gearing up for gushes of water. Following record rainfall in the past two years, YVW says the recent return to dry conditions could see soil around water pipes dry up and contract, causing pipes to shift and crack. YVW managing director Tony Kelly said if this was to occur, it could become a nuisance for locals.
