More than 1000 foxes were caught in the Yarra Ranges from October 2011 to December 2012 under a statewide fox bounty. At the Woori Yallock collection centre, 1237 fox scalps were handed in as the state government encouraged locals to kill the pest during the 15-month bounty period. Farmers and hunters were given $10 per scalp, with more than 133,000 foxes handed in statewide.
