AN armed robber who pointed a gun at police after stealing cash from a Croydon gaming venue last Tuesday morning is still on the run.
Police are yet to find the man, who may still be armed, after he and an accomplice stormed the Dorset Gardens Hotel just before 10am, stealing an unknown amount of cash.
The two men drove off in a car but dumped it just kilometres down the road.
Police arrested one man while the other pointed his gun at them and escaped. A cordon area was set up quickly to hunt out the man.
Victoria Police's Superintendent Graeme Arthur said the man then jumped through the yards of local houses.
"The offender was seen scaling a number of residential fences going from yard to yard," he said.
One resident even tried to stop the man with a baseball bat.
While police were confident of capturing the man last Tuesday, it appeared he had escaped the cordoned area.
Investigators also recovered a firearm on Mt Dandenong Road about 3.15pm on Tuesday which is believed to be linked to the robbery.
The critical incident response team, special operations group, dog squad, local police and air wing searched the area for several hours.
Police confirmed on Friday there was no development in the case and the situation was ongoing.
The man was described as 165cm and wearing a white hooded top and black parachute pants.
Anyone with information is urged to call Triple 0 immediately.
