As thousands of Maroondah students return to school today, drivers are being reminded that school zones are back in force. Cr Rob Steane said that while some roads surrounding schools would be 40km/h during school times, others would be permanent 40km/h zones. Appropriate speed limits will be displayed via electronic signs on the roads. Cr Steane said the reduced speed zones were put in place to reduce and prevent road accidents around schools.
