Demand for public housing in the eastern metropolitan region has risen for the first time in a year following four successive quarters of reductions.
Housing Minister Wendy Lovell released the December 2012 quarter public housing waiting list, which showed a 1.9 per cent increase. From September to December 2012, there were 49 more applications lodged across the eastern region, with the Ringwood office alone now holding 2113 applications. The total number of applications, including those lodged at the Box Hill office, now stands at 4346.
