MAROONDAH mayor Nora Lamont has thrown open the door to her office and wants you to come in for a chat.
On the third Friday of each month, starting February 15, Cr Lamont will give residents the opportunity to attend a one-on-one meeting with her, allowing people an avenue to voice their ideas, questions and frustrations.
Cr Lamont said it was part of her plan to make the council more accessible.
"I said when I was sworn in [as mayor in November] I wanted people to have more access to us.
"I want us as a council to be more visible and for people to be able to approach us and say, 'What's going on with this' or 'Why can't council look at this'."
Cr Lamont said the 15-20 minute meetings would take the direction locals wanted.
"I don't have any rules or boundaries on what people want to talk about.
"That would be pointless."
