Maroondah police seniors' register is now back on the road after Maroondah Council and Croydon RSL last week handed over a new car for the service's volunteers to use.
The council and RSL raised funds for the car after their old vehicle was no longer available.The volunteer program offers assistance to more than 850 elderly and socially isolated residents.
Clients receive regular phone calls from the service and if volunteers detect any issue or believe the residents are in need of assistance, visits and safety audits will be conducted. For more information, call 9724 0177.
