Mother, child hurt in Chirnside Park car park accident

A FOUR-year-old boy and his mother are in hospital with leg injuries after a car accident in the Bunnings Chirnside Park car park Monday afternoon.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the Healesville pair were trapped against a wall in the car park after a 79-year-old Millgrove man lost control of his car at about 1.40pm.

The spokesperson said the mother was sent to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, while the boy was air lifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital. 

The distressed driver was taken to the Maroondah Hospital for observation.  

Police are investigating the incident.
