THERE are major delays on the Belgrave line this morning after a train collided with a car parked across the tracks near Tecoma railway station.
Police said the car was pushed 30 metres down the railway tracks when the train collided with it about 4.30am.
Police believe the car was deliberately left on the tracks and are treating the matter as suspicious.
There was no one in the car at the time but the engine was still warm when the crash occurred..
The car was not on the tracks when the final train ran at 1.30am.
Police have identified, and been in contact with the owner of the registered vehicle.
