Julia and Matilda will get rolling again for Ride2School day on Friday. Manchester Primary School is going above and beyond to ensure 100 per cent participation by its pupils in the event. The Mooroolbark school will lock both car parks at the school, virtually forcing pupils to walk at least part of the way. Deputy principal Phillipa Adgemis says that for children who don't regularly ride to school, it's a way of encouraging parents to drop them off a block away and walk the remaining distance. More than 140,000 students around Australia will ditch car rides and either walk, bike or skate to school on Ride2School day.
