Maroondah's Stroke A Chord Choir has won $10,000 in the Bank of Melbourne's The Local Project competition.
The contest offered cash grants of $10,000 to 10 worthy projects across Victoria.
Mayor Rob Steane said the funding meant the choir could now make a documentary to spread the word about the initiative.
