A PERSON has died in a car crash in Ringwood East early this morning.
Police believe a brown Ford Falcon station wagon was trying to turn right into Carcoola Road when it and an eastbound semi-trailer collided on Mt Dandenong Road just after 6.30.
The sole occupant of the station wagon died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.
The 32-year-old truck driver from Cranbourne North suffered minor injuries.
The state’s road toll now stands at 143 compared with 157 for the same time last year.
