SEABL: Raiders spoil Kilsyth's party

KILSYTH veteran forward Sarah Parsons played her 200th South East Australian Basketball League game on Saturday night.

Unfortunately, her team couldn't get the win, with the Cobras going down to Knox Raiders women 54-41 at Kilsyth Sports Centre.

Both sides are battling for play-off positions and their shooting showed some nerves. The Raiders shot just 34 per cent and the Cobras shot 26 per cent.

Cobras forward Hayley Moffatt led her side with 17 points and nine rebounds and Kristen Barnes had 11 points.

Parsons, who is also a former Raiders player, had her usual all-around game with eight rebounds, two steals and three assists.

The Cobras men also had a rough night. The Raiders men cruised to an 83-61 win. Raiders star CJ Massingale scored a game-high 28 points and the Cobras' best was Auryn Macmillan with 19 points.

On Friday night, the Cobras men lost 83-74 in their clash against Mt Gambier.

Both Cobras men's and women's teams have double-headers this weekend. Both teams play at Nunawading on Saturday night, then host Geelong at Kilsyth on Sunday.
