FORMER Lilydale High School student Tarren Otte was one of eight Australians who competed in the synchronised swimming team routine final overnight.
The Australians were ranked eight of eight in the technical routine, scoring 38.300 from the judges for execution, 39.200 for overall impression and 77.500 combined.
They were 20.600 points behind the winner, Russia, who scored 98.100 combined. The Australians were also 9.800 points behind Great Britain in sixth.
Otte, from Middle Park, and the team will compete in the teams free routine competition at midnight tonight.
