A MOOROOLBARK man has been charged following an attempted armed robbery at a Lilydale store on Saturday night.
Police were called out to the business on Cave Hill Road about 6pm and arrested the 33-year-old man.
He was charged with attempted armed robbery and other assault-related offences, and is expected to face Melbourne Magistrates Court today.
The 43-year-old store attendant sustained minor injuries in the incident and was taken to Maroondah Hospital for observation.
