MONTROSE coach Brett Johnson believes nothing separates his side and Rowville heading into the Eastern Football League division 2 grand final at Jubilee Park, Ringwood this Saturday.
The Demons spent the past week in training following their major semi-final win over the Hawks in week 1 of the finals.
The Hawks turned on an impressive performance in the preliminary final, thumping Mooroolbark by 70 points on Saturday.
Johnson said the Hawks gave the Demons coaches plenty to think about following their win over the Mustangs on Saturday.
"I think we are both very evenly matched. Only a game separated us during the season, both teams are quite good defensively and both structure up pretty well. There will be some excellent individual match-ups. The game will be a fascinating duel."
Johnson also revealed the Demons hadn't given up hope of getting both Tom Dodd (dislocated shoulder) and Heath Roberts (back-related hamstring) back for the grand final.
"We will still give them every chance to to play. They have both recovered well this week and are still a chance to play."
Johnson also said he was confident his defence could handle Rowville's Cody Morris, who kicked six goals against Mooroolbark. "Our back six have done well all year. Our main defenders can all play tall and have done so throughout the year."
