WILD weather has resulted in power outages to more than 2300 homes in the Yarra Ranges overnight and this morning.
SP Ausnet spokesman Jonathon Geddes confirmed Yarra Ranges residents were still in the dark.
Heavy winds had brought down powerlines, causing the outages, Mr Geddes said.

The company hoped all homes would have power again by late this afternoon or early evening, but it was dependent on the weather.
There are strong winds again today and Mr Geddes said they ‘‘will prolong or even add’’ to their workload.
More than 200 employees worked until late into the night to restore power, Mr Geddes said, but they also had to take into consideration the workers’ safety.
A spokesman for the State Emergency Service said since midnight, the Lilydale SES unit had responded to 30 calls for assistance.
These included three in Lilydale, 14 in Mt Evelyn and one in Healesville.
In Mt Evelyn, there were seven reports of trees being down and five of building damage.
Mr Geddes warned residents to steer clear of any fallen powerlines as they could still be live.
