RESIDENTS are pleased with Maroondah Council's overall performance but believe customer service and community consultation need improvement, a survey has revealed.
The Statewide Local Government Services Report was released late last month by Local Government Minister Jeanette Powell.
About 400 households in Maroondah were randomly selected to answer the survey, undertaken independent of the council.
The council's chief executive officer Frank Dixon said Maroondah's results show their overall performance is "significantly higher than the state-wide average, which is a wonderful achievement and highlights that the residents are appreciative of the high standard of service council provides the community".
Maroondah scored 63 for overall performance, above the state average of 60 and outer metro average of 61.
But for customer service Maroondah scored 70 — below the state average of 71 and outer metro result of 72. It scored 56 for community consultation with the state average being 57 and the outer metro average 59.
The council scored above the state average for overall council direction and was on par with the average for advocacy.
