A TAXI driver was taken to hospital after being assaulted in Upwey early this morning.
Belgrave police said the driver picked up a man in Ringwood and drove him to an address in Mast Gully Road, Upwey, arriving just before 1am.
An argument broke out over the fare and the man punched the driver on the head several times and pulled him out of his taxi onto the ground.
The man walked off and the driver alerted police before being taken to hospital with a suspected broken nose.
Police have obtained the security footage from the taxi and the investigation is continuing.
