A MAN wielding a machete threatened staff at a Mooroolbark convenience store during an attempted robbery last night.
Police are seeking witnesses to the incident at the Landscape Drive store just after 6pm.
Police said the man entered the store armed with the machete and carrying a bag, demanding cash and threatening the teenaged staff member.
The man then walked behind the counter and pushed the teenager before fleeing empty-handed towards Maroondah Highway.
He is described as Caucasian, aged in his 20s, and was wearing a dark-hooded jumper, dark trackpants and white shoes.
