NORTH Ringwood star Anthony Sharp turned the pain of two poor grand finals into premiership glory on Saturday.
The 21-year-old midfielder-forward kicked five goals in the Saints' 137-point win over Glen Waverley Hawks in the Eastern Football League division 3 grand final and was named best on ground.
Sharp, who won the flag alongside his 19-year-old brother Jason, said his motivation was to take his home club to a flag after two losing efforts in the past two years.
"In the past two years I've played pretty poor in the finals series, so I wanted to have a good one today," he said
"I've been here since my junior days. It's an amazing feeling to win it after the past few years and the heartbreak we've had.
"This year it's such a good feeling and to win by this margin as well; it's just perfect.
"To be out there in the second half and to know that you have pretty much won, it's excellent."
Sharp said he was rapt to share the premiership with his brother.
He also looks forward to leading his side into division 2 action next season.
"I definitely think we can play in division 2. We'll just have a crack and give it the best we can."
