PIRATES, buried treasure, sword fights, treasure maps and more are all part of Queensland Theatre Company and Matrix Theatre Co-Production's latest show, Treasure Island.
It's a family-friendly show filled with surprises and will explore themes of adventure and escapism, role models and overcoming fears.
The show is based on 12-year-old boy Jim Hawkins, who is on the hunt for buried treasure. But Jim has to be very careful because there are double-crossing pirates all around, led by the notorious Long John Silver.
The big question is, will Jim make it from his home in a small seaside village to the mysterious Treasure Island?
The show lasts 50 minutes and is suitable for ages eight and over.
Treasure Island is showing at Burrinja Theatre in Upwey this Friday at 7pm and at Karralyka Theatre in Ringwood on Wednesday, September 26, at 10.30am and again at 2pm.
Details: Karralyka, 9879 2933 or Burrinja, 9262 6555.
