SOUTH East Australian Basketball League women's coach of the year Peter Gay will continue to coach Kilsyth women in 2013.
The Cobras announced Gay's reappointment last week. In his first full season as Cobras coach, Gay led the team to a 20-6 record as the Cobras made the women's south conference final before losing to arch-rivals Knox Raiders.
Gay coached the Cobras for several matches in 2011 when then coach Cheryl Chambers was away coaching an Australian junior team.
Gay said he looked forward to taking the Cobras further in 2013. "I'm really excited to be back at such a great supportive club like Kilsyth," he said.
"I am especially looking forward to using what both the team and I learnt in 2012 as well as watching the group progress and hopefully develop some young stars.
"I believe that next year will be a good challenge for the group . . . both the players and the coaches will need to improve if we are to take the next step."
The Cobras women are currently in their off-season but Gay and the club will soon begin assembling a team for 2013.
