Help to get rid of roadside weeds

Yarra Ranges Council has received a $85,374 roadside weeds and pests program grant to help it deal with the persistent problem.

Evelyn MP Christine Fyffe said the grant would support the council in implementing a long-term management plan for plant and animal pests on roadsides.

The recent Bailey Report recommended that local government were best placed to control weeds and rabbits on roadsides. The funding, under the RWPP, is part of a $7.8 million, three-year statewide program.
