THE Yarra Valley Cricket Association opens its senior season this Saturday with a few minor changes to the length of matches.
The YVCA senior competition will see some minor changes with more one-day games in the top grades, fitting in with the structure of eight teams per grade allowing for seven two-day and seven one-day games.
DJ Strachan Shield premier Coldstream travels to Healesville for its opening game of 2012-13, with last season's runners-up Seville going to meet Woori Yallock at Woori Yallock.
Wandin CC, one of the oldest clubs in the association, is also in a recovery mode.
Having slumped to only one side last season, they have built back to two teams, with a first XI playing in the C grade.
Its first match will be an away game, but played at the Wandin ground against last season's premiers in this grade, Seville.
■ Anyone interested in cricket and moving into the Wandin township should make contact with the Wandin Cricket Club by calling Rick Painter on 0419 646 052.
■ All clubs need new members, playing and non-playing, so if you need to contact a local club, call the YVCA on 0408 353 076 for assistance.
■ The senior season starts this Saturday and the juniors will begin their season next Saturday.
