YARRA Valley Grammar Ariels star Caitlyn Strachan was part of a three-way tie in the Margaret Caldow award as most valuable player in the Victorian Netball League championship division.
Strachan joined Monash University Central defender Helen Barclay and Peninsula Waves import shooter Mwai Kumwenda in winning the award.
All three players were overseas and couldn't be present to receive it.
Kumwenda was in her native Malawi while Barclay and Strachan were both in Europe, with the latter two players sending video messages that were played at the Netball Victoria gala awards night last week.
Monash University Central's Jessica D'Antonio won the division 1 MVP award ahead of Boroondara Genesis' Tamara Luke and North East Blaze's Lauren Tesoriero.
In the 19-and-under division, City West Falcons' Vanessa Augustini won the MVP from UB Ballarat Pride's Emma Ryan and Geelong Cougars' Simone Hickman.
Kumwenda also claimed the Hot Shot award for scoring the most goals in the championship division ahead of Geelong Cougars' Erin Hoare and City West Falcons' Kathleen Knott.
Geelong Cougars' Rebecca Scott won the division 1 Hot Shot award from Boroondara Gensis' Shannon Gray and VU Western Lightnings' Deanne Tuppen.
Emma Ryde-Coade won the 19-and-under Hot Shot award from Geelong Cougars' Elle Rice and Peninsula Waves' Megan Rosser.
