Woman charged with culpable driving after fatal Bayswater North crash  

POLICE have charged a 35-year-old woman with culpable driving after a collision in Bayswater North on Sunday left a man dead.

Leanne Gomez, of Bayswater North, will appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court today.

She was arrested as she allegedly attempted to flee the scene of the collision and was later taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The woman was  driving city-bound along Canterbury Road in Bayswater North when police allege she attempted to turn right into Greenhill Road. 

A 35-year-old Croydon man was travelling north-east on Canterbury Road when the vehicles collided.

 He was airlifted to The Alfred hospital in a critical condition but died shortly after.
