Public housing waiting lists in the eastern region have fallen to their lowest level in four years. State government figures released last week show there are almost 5000 fewer applicants on the waiting list than in September 2010. Housing Minister Wendy Lovell said a "proactive approach" had seen the waiting list fall to the lowest level since the September 2008 quarter.
